I moved to Florida in the sixth grade, long before the hoards of people came. I remember Sanibel Island when there were three hotels and a lighthouse. The Keys were sleepy and laid back. Now my husband claims it is all "traffic and old people," but I can still find the magic and essence of the real Florida underneath it all.
